Maybe I'll do a self-portrait of me trying to use a FILM camera. That would be pretty rusty!

it's a damn shame that this challenge wasn't done in the late 80's - by then there were millions of rusty cars on the streets (predominantly Alfa Romeos and Datsuns) and fulfilling the requirements of this weeks challenge would have been a cinch. Of course - all those have now rotted away and even alfas don't rust anymore...

Hey, try your local junk yard. You'll be amazed of what you may find there.

This one was on my website just few weeks ago.

Love this photo but I have to travel to far to get one like this one again.

Figures this challenge comes along this week. I just spent the last month shooting pics in a junk yard back home for a personal project :( Its 2 hours away.

Ha! I did that about a month ago and found:

1) There was a $3 fee just to enter! and
2) Cameras are strictly prohibited.

Times they are a'changing

(Edit trying to get the quote corrected)

I think that everyone should just re-submit their Wheels shot...i had enough rust in that challenge!

My rusty shot that was taken too early:

Oh well. I'll have to take photo of a wheel now.

Thanks!

That reminds me to share the funny thing about this photo that I didn't mention in my comments on it. I had just gotten back from my trip to Puerto Rico with about a thousand photos and I had a lot to do when I got back so I submitted the only photo I had with anything even close to the color orange in it. I was so glad I took that shot and very surprised at how well it did since I usually go out and shoot things specifically for the challenges. This week I will be going out to look for rusty things. I've been thrown out of junkyards for taking pictures in the past too so I'm not sure where to go.

04/29/2004 12:09:45 AM · #20

Check out ritaard's comment though - and take heed so as not to bore her in the future. ;)
