Hi guys, I am looking to provide my clients with some sort of album, for the time being, mroe likely a small, "coffee table" type of album, since I shoot portraits, maternity, children, etc. I'm looking for quality products at an affordable price, that I can easily design myself.
I looked at resources on rangefindermag.com but there are so many i don't know where to start!
Thanks,
Michele |

I like Mpix. I did a coffee table book for my sisters wedding. She loved it. |

hh color lab has great coffee table books - many sizes starting at about $20. I've done 35 page 11x14 w/ photo cover for under $60.
I use them for babies and seniors all the time.
for 09 you can now choose from four different types of paper for teh pages!

I have been using Mpix also with good results. I am now researching digital books that I can design and easily upload somewhere for my clients to proof. I checked out Blurb and they only have the first 15 pages available to preview. Anyone know where I can find a company that does this? |

I use an Imac and what I do now is use Grab to select the page right from the mpix software and save it as a jpg and put each individual page on smugmug. When there are 40 or so pages, it gets time consuming. I'm looking for an easier way. |

OK...i didn't know if .pdf's can be posted on webpages....because if you are viewing the 'proof' copy, you can save it as a pdf. You have to go all the way through as if you are ready to place the order, and when you are at the proof part, simply save it as a pdf. Its watermarked proof, etc....
At least that is what I did last spring, but I emailed her the pdf file, for her to proof. |

Yes, Asuka books look really nice, but are a bit pricey I thought. Quality is just OK? |

I could send the client the pdf, but I've found that some people have no idea what they are doing on a computer, so just sending a link would be ideal. |

I've heard asuka is pricey (relativley speaking) and when they first appeared they were upscale and different - but now not so much as others have entered the field. I hear they are slow on turnaround as well.
HH's turnaround is usually 2 to 3 days. Yes, Days. Order monday and you may very well have it friday.

For the digital books, take a look at the PageFlip skin for JAlbum. It lets the user grab and flip the pages, and looks just like the book/finished album.
Here's the link
