I currently have a website with ClickImage.com (MyPhotographer.com), where I purchased a domain name in August. My website vanished from the web on Sunday evening; when it reappeared, none of the Flash content worked. Since then I have been trying to contact my CS agent at ClickImage, to no avail. My emails and support tickets go unanswered and the phone goes straight to a generic voice mail when I call.
I fear the worst, that they may have gone out of business. I desperately want to keep my domain name, especially since I just ordered 300 business cards that will be arriving this week, and I can't really afford to toss them and start again right now.
My domain is registered with enom.com, and they won't let me do anything since I bought it through ClickImage. And of course I can't reach ClickImage to get any help from them. The only thing I can do myself, from my ClickImage account, is deactivate the domain name - but I'm afraid that will only let it out of my ownership, but not release it back into circulation.
Is there anything I can do in this situation, or am I up that infamous creek?
Has anyone heard anything about ClickImage failing?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated right now!

You site is up and other then the starting images it looks good.
Nice site, well put together.
Maybe they just had some server troubles. |

Thanks! None of the Flash content images are showing on any of the pages - only the portfolios appear. And honestly, I feel somewhat limited by the constraints of the templates they provide. I have an alternative site all set up and I'm ready to move over as soon as I can get the name free.
Server troubles I'll buy - I'm just a bit scared because I can't get in touch with anyone there.

I would transfer the domain to another registrar. I've had good luck with Namecheap.com Open a free account and then submit a ticket/email telling them your situation and ask them what they suggest to complete a transfer. Maybe submit to a couple of different registrars. It's a good way to check out the quality and speed of their support, and to get an answer to your question all at the same time.
I believe there are several threads here about registrars and hosting companies members recommend.

I'd try to transfer it, as suggested (GoDaddy has great support). If that fails, creekimage.com is available. ;-) |

I have had amazing success and nothing but fast, helpful customer service with hostgator.com- might give them some thought. Plus, usually they have a promo for a free domain transfer, and their hosting is pretty cheap as well. |

you own the domain name. and you have a company serving up/hosting the content.
contact another server/host and ask that they transfer your content from the current host to their servers.
they ( the new host ) should take care of the BS involved in the move.
it will likely take up to 72 hours or so - after - the new host has made the transfer for your site to be registered on the 'real' internet under its' new IP.

I am currently with GoDaddy and they are wonderful.. Once you are at a new host then you should back-up your site to your computer and any changes you make to your site keep the changes current on your computer as well. I have had issues in the past (Not with GoDaddy) with a different provider where the server crashed and they posted their "Back-Up" after the crash and it was an old version of my site. Since I had the current version backed up on my computer I just uploaded all the files over the old ones. I was back up and running in about 15 minutes. |
