I'm not sure whether people are already aware of this site - but I have just stumbled across it and it looks pretty good if Bird Photography is your thing . .

Interestingly they rate the 50D AF as faster to acquire than the 40D, and in some cases a match for the 1D mk3 in low light. |

And it's not just birds.

| a very interesting site, I have bookmarked it. I would love to et a 500mm lens for either of my cameras but at R16k a bit out of my price range, the canon 100-400m l glass is R23k, divide by 10 for US$. |

Thanks for the link- I like that site. One of the threads there finally convinced me to pull the trigger on buying the Bogen/Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod with 488RC2 ball head.
My "Hello World" post there didn't drive any traffic to my newly re-organized galleries //sailracer.zenfolio.com, though. I was hoping for a few constructive comments or guestbook entries now that Zenfolio supports them. (hint, hint!) ;^)
