Are you using Safari on Mac? I couldn't up load either. Everything worked fine using FireFox. |
Yes, I'm using Safari on my Mac, but everything seems to be working fine now. |

Slightly off topic, but I was thumbing through a photography book at Barnes and Noble last night and found this image right there on the page. Now that's a trip! Too bad I was alone or I'd've bragged that I know the photographer... well, sorta. =) Nice work, David! |
Thanks! Was it a book on Canon dSLRs? The author asked to use it while back.
Ok, saw the link. Yep that was it.

I never could get it to uplaod using Safari, even with all the charcters being letters and numbers.
With FireFox, I haven't had any issues with other characters.
Strange. |

Yes it was about Canon dSLRs. There were a lot of chapters about different settings, producing the effects you want, etc. Your image seemed to be in some sort of "user gallery" chapter. Your name was on it, as well as a brief description.

Enter it and find out!
I did have an email conversation with a screener over at 1x.
One thing they pointed out is that 1x is a European site, not an American site.
While trying desperately not to be insulted with that, one could take it to mean that images that might have a favorable appeal to Americans won't have the same appeal to the Europeans.
I don't know how Europeans feel about cowboys, but it is something to think about in general. |

I've been trying to find the exact quote since one of your other posts, but someone said something along the lines of 'americans are the only people who think things are always going to be better in the future, europeans know better'. While a bit of a stereotype, that may in part explain the mood of a lot of the images there versus here. |

You should get an email. You can also look at "Uploaded Photos" on your account page - it'll show if a photo is in screening, rejected, or for the chosen few - accepted. |

you can check on the status of them in your "uploaded photos" (on your "account" page) on the site itself--emails seem to follow more slowly.

I entered 3. 2 rejected right off, 1 rejected in the second round.
... so I paid $40 bucks just so I could enter 7 more. Doh! Why'd I do that!? |

I think that is what the screener was trying to say. I travel to Europe quite often, it is interesting watching the people on the streets, particularly in the larger cities like Paris, Amsterdam, Oslo. A lot in dark or black clothing. Same could be said of New York, too. |

Shelby Foote, author of the fantastic Civil War trilogy, noted in an interview that Washington DC is sort of in-between in terms of North and South:
"...it has Northern Charm and Southern Efficiency..." |
