Thanks to Don and Joel, and thanks to all the participants and commenters. This was indeed widely interesting.

Pretty much like the party format as it has been. Just under the radar.

Thanks to Don and Joe, for your collaborative efforts in making this challenge happen. I think for a first off challenge of this type, it went extremely well.
Thank you also to everyone that participated and all those that commented.
I enjoyed this challenge immensely, and look forward to it becoming a regular occurrence. : )

Plus it's a great place for the DPC misfits to hang out! : )

I would like to add my thanks also, to Joe and Don. This has been so interesting to take part in. And thanks to all who took the time and trouble to comment so extensively. I know I appreciated the comments greatly.

HAH... all too true.

I would be willing to host one if there was ever a shortage for hosts.
I get confused reading about it's future as a formal challenge. I think the format is fine as is and worked quite well. I was so absorbed by this that I completely forgot about the Jan Free Study, oops...

...and my first ever PH award in a PH open with a film shot, how cool is that?!?

Thanks everyone for participating. I was able to sneak an entry in for myself, so was Don. :)

I think it went pretty smoothly. At least from the template I came up with it wasn't too bad, except I didn't keep a running list of which shot belonged to whom so I had to go back through my emails to update the list in the other thread with originals. I think the most time consuming part is right now, where people are uploading originals and I am changing links for awards. Not sure how to do it differently for future challenges, and hopefully when the next challenge runs around I will be more employed and someone else can host. The only change I may have made was to release all the images at once and have a longer commenting period. The early entries have twice as many view as the later entries.

In an ideal situation, langdon could make this happen.
Have an entry system like we already have in place for regular challenges. This would allow for favorites to be added also.
Once all images are commented on by someone, a new box appears somewhere to award there top images, up to 5. This part could be difficult since some just gave awards in no order and while some gave 1st, 2nd, 3rd type of awards.
For those commenting, they would have the option of seeing other's comments or not. Since some enjoyed it and some wished it was like a regular challenge.
Then just have a thread or results page where instead of results by image it is by results from the commenter/award giver.
Just some thoughts, a juried challenge would be fun too.

Remember to upload your originals and post them in the 2008 Posthumous Open Awards and Images thread!
