Hey all, I'm not complaining about my FS score on this months entry "Smoke Ribbons."
I expected it to get 6 plus, but I've learned to understand that not everything that you think will do well, does well. :p

Anyhoo, I appreciate all nine comments I got but I wanted a few more critiques and suggestions on how I could have improved the score this image, or even more important, how to just make it a better image (irregardless of score).

Let me know what you think guys, all your comments are very important as the only way I can grow is with your help!

I like the image overall, and find the colours very nice.

Some critiques though... I think the smoke could be sharper. It is very sharp on the left side... if then entire photo was this sharp, i think it would be even better.

But most of all, for me anyway, I find smoke shots to be uninteresting because we have seen so many of them. It would take a really unique or absolutely outstanding smoke shot for me to consider voting it higher than a 6 or 7.

I didnt vote in this months FS.

Check out this one by brownsm:

The patterns in the smoke consist first of two starting points, at the bottom, that lead you into a square plane that is tilted away from you, giving a sense of depth. Now, within the two points, lines and planes of this composition, are a series of random motions. Finally, the use of multiple lights gave a distinct impression to the rule of thirds which often creates a more dramatic effect.
