Just passing on the note, i was in a circut city today in louisiana and they are all going out of business but calling it " a new year sale" the sales guy informed me.. anyway they have a HUGE SALE on camera gear there right now. don't know if it's the same online as it is in the store but that is what the sign said outside.

Be sure to know your prices before you go. I've heard that Circuit City has hired a company to liquidate their products and in some cases the prices are HIGHER than they used to be before they went on sale. I'm sure there are bargains to be had... but there are no returns since they're going out of business, so make sure it works and you understand the sale.

yea, the Circuit City here closed it's doors completely last week - I was watching camera prices and even WITH 40% off cameras a canon 40D was still way more expensive than Amazon even. It never went lower than that - they shipped them off to another store after that.

really it wa cheeper on amazon? they had it here listed for 899.99 but when I called mom to see if she wanted to buy me a x-mas gift for next year a year early the guy told me they didn't have anymore...
but yes some thing were higher, like the GPS's except for 1. but then i learned that it was on sale everywhere for the same price.. lol so I thought I got a good deal on the garmin 780 when i got it for 317 taxe and shipping.. but come to find out I could have just gone a few other places and foundit in stock and not had to pay the 2 day shipping and saved 20 bucks.. oh well I probably would have spent that in gas driving around..
but they had 42" flat screens for 599, thats a bad ass price, when i went at 2pm they had 7 I went back at 5:30 with the hubby.. they were all gone!

I got an SB-600 for $109 which I'm pretty happy with, since I just paid that on Amazon for an SB-400. They had good deals on bodies too, but I didn't have the money for that.

I'd take two at that price... Do they have any more? I'll have to check the CC in my area.

40D body only is only for $791 at amazon, plus most probably there won't be any tax.

Woah, I'd love to get one of those SB-600s to use as a wireless slave if I can still find an open Circuit City.

I think I have an old Circuit City giftcard, I should use it before it's worthless (if it hasn't devalued already).

I read somewhere else that somebody got a 50D at CC for about $550, but I'm guessing that was a fluke, even if it were the demo model.

Hmm $550??? I dunno about that one.
