Matt

Do you have a GameStop close by? I know the GameStop stores around here sell them w/o the second remote.

Yes we do! And I gave Brandon a Gamestop gift card for Christmas, I'll tell him to stop in and see if they have one tomorrow. Thanks for the tip!

I got a Wii a couple of months ago and have bought a few games for it.

Currently we have:

Wii Sports (duh): really fun

Wii Fit: We all really love it. It has some fun games to get your body movin' It also keeps track of weight/BMI changes and makes you set goals. It really is a forward thinking game and is worth every penny.

Rock Band: Really fun for everyone! Great party game.

Dance Dance Revolution 2: Really cool -- like Wii fit it gets you active and moving. It's really fun for everyone to take turns and try to get the highest score. You know you have always seen these DDR geeks in the mall and secretly wanted to join in; well now you can!

Animal Crossing: Haven't done much with it yet but played the Gamecube version and loved it. It's basically the same thing with some new features and landscape.

I'm going to bump this one more time. Gamestop wants $20 plus tax for the game used! If anyone has Wii Play that they dont want and want to make up the difference for what you would pay for controller only please shoot me a PM. Otherwise they are all over Ebay.

We got one for christmas and enjoy it, we are doing Hell's Kitchen right at this time. It is a blast. Have Wii fit try to do that every day and Wii play. For sofa spuds like us it has gotten us up and moving which is a good thing.

Yes that is what I am looking for, however my son is a bit impatient, and his grandma told me to find a new one online and just order it for him and she would pay for it. She didnt want a used game. I did a quick ebay search and found one shipped for $20 so I have one on the way. Thanks though!

Boycott Gamestop. They are extortionists. They buy your games from you for next to nothing, and then sell them back to the public for $5 - $10 lower than retail price, and that's only skimming the surface of the barrel that is their horrible business practices.

Do they sell them on as pre-owned, or claim them as new? That happens openly here in UK with a couple of retailers. Personally I don't see a problem if they're being open about it.

Evidently people don't mind, if they are trading in their games. Ever been to a pawn shop before? It's not a new concept, and not like they force you to do it.

Back on topic...Mario Kart is one of my favorites. Also love the ski jump on Wii Fit. I want to get the new Raving Rabbids TV Party...that looks pretty fun.

My wife has become quickly addicted to Mario Kart. Soooo much fun. Of course, I don't have this problem (grin). Nope, not addicted at all.

I love downloading the old school games! Super Mario Bros 3 is ticking me off though cuz I can't get past the fist little castle on level one! Looked online how to beat it (either fly over @ end or go through door on right it said, but there is NO door and when I try flying over it won't let me go as far as I need to get to the other room!) :\

Right now addicted to Dr Mario! LOVE my Wii! ;]

Ya, gotta add the umpteenth nomination for Mario Kart. I love playing with Caden (8). The trouble is I can now drive my absolute best and hardest and only beat him about 1/3rd of the time. A bit humbling.

My 6yr old niece constantly beats me at Mario Cart... I don't know how she does it because I have played much more than her...

Evidently. That's the saddest part about it. We're such apathetic sheep.

Okay I know someone will come back and laugh at me, but I also hope they will explain how you go about downloaing the games. Does the Wii need to be hooked to the computer or do you download them and put them on a disc? Also would someone be kind enough to link me to the download site.

You have to have the wii itself connected to your home network over a wireless connection. You'll need a wireless router for this. Then, it's just a matter of going to the Wii Shop channel and connection to the Virtual Console or Wii Ware spaces. (or whatever else is on there now that I'm not aware of)

Mario Galaxy has been by far my favorite game on the Wii. Mario Galaxy is a continuation of the 3D theme from Mario 64.

My wife and I also really enjoy Wii Sports. We play just about every evening.

I have my Wii hooked up to the internet via router. The set up was pretty simple. To get to the games that are available for download, you go to the Wii Shop Channel. The Wii Shop Channel should be next to where you click to make your Mii's. Most of the games on the Wii Shop channel cost around 5 or ten dollars, but there are some free things that you can download too.
I hope that helps!
eta: I agree about Mario Galaxy, I love it, but it's only a one person game.

I've been playing wii for several months....love the sports and wii fit too. I just got Animal Crossing, Wii Music, and Raving Rabbits. So far I like all three games. Wii Music is really different---very simple, but also very complex in what you can do with it.

So ...
Can you download the game and you're good-to-go (I am on wireless internet so I know I can download updates and stuff)?
I just got a wii and I thought I had to have a disk for games.

BTW- "My Word Coach" is 14.99 at Gamestop and is a fun way to get some learnin' dunn while on the wii.

There are both types of games. The games you download are downloaded right to your Wii, so it will take up some memory space. Those games will stay on your Wii unless you delete them. The other games are on discs and it sounds like you already know how to use those. :) Next time you're on your Wii check out the Wii Shop Channel, it will make more sense I'm sure!
