JB, the trumpeters are even bigger! I've only seen one of them down there this year and he didn't seem to be around today. Then again, only a few of the swans came down to where we were. The rest were staying in the open water.

Ok, last one I promise (crosses his fingers behind his back), the snow is almost gone.

Okay, just so Art doesn't feel so embarrassed, I'll post a couple of my crappy shots from Saturday. The last of our bag of barley got wet when the shed tap exploded so we had to used it up. It was freakin' cold out there but the birds appreciated the feed.

Okay, that's an understatement. It was a regular feeding frenzy! The one swan started out of the water to meet us as soon as he saw us and was chasing hubby, wanting the whole bag instead of the little pile hubby poured him. I had to grab a quick shot as I was still crossing the road because it was just too funny.

And talk about having all your ducks in a row...

Gotta love the row. Dont you love the row? Everybody loves the row:-)

Now here is a bird!... California Condor #95

The California Condor is the largest bird in North America with a wingspan averaging 9.1 feet and talons that could easily grasp the top of a human head. The California Condor remains one of the world's rarest bird species.

This picture was taken at Navajo Bridge, Arizona from about 5 feet away in January, 2004 when it was one of only 84 birds free to fly in the open wild. You would be hard pressed to find a better close-up photographic example of this magnificent bird species.

I cheated a little and shot this in the zoo. I have fewer birds in my yard than Art does.

I love that little white patch that hummers have behind their eye. It makes them look rather psycho, which a lot of them seem to be! :)
