I'm dangerously addicted to this lens...adding many more images to my lensbaby collection than I post in the thread (probably like many of us in this challenge!)...I'm blown away by what I'm seeing here but I'm so far behind in comments because I'm so addicted to this lens...

I added so many images to my lensbaby gallery today that I didn't want to flood the thread with all of them but you can find them here :-)

Pic #4. I did what Robert did. Saw the sun and thought I'd go out. It was really really really cold out. So I didn't go far. I kind of like this one.

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/35000-39999/39880/120/753076.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/35000-39999/39880/120/753076.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

I'll catch up on my comments a little later. Right now I'm going to go watch the Vikings beat up on the Eagles.

I appear to have been outed. :)

They all have their strengths, and I swear that's not a cop-out answer. I'm not sure that I have a favorite, really, I just use them depending on my mood and what I have in mind to create. I will say the use of the 3G for me has been limited, though - mostly for "set up", studio shots, I never just carry it around. Although you certainly can use the 3G that way, I just find it a bit cumbersome personally.

And no plans on setting myself up with a Muse or a Control Freak, even though it appears that I'm trying to corner the market ;) - the Composer is really the only one of the new models that adds something truly new. Granted I can't use the interchangeable optic system on the old ones, but I don't think I'll miss it. If I want the "muse", I've got my choice of single optic (1.0) or double (2.0), and with the "control freak" I can't imagine ever wanting or needing anything other than the double optic, which I have already with the 3G. If I want to play around with optics, I've got the Composer for that.

I'll try to give you some semblance of an answer at least...I'm enjoying using the Composer, but I do find it's such a total difference from the previous models (ball and socket rather than bendy tube, even if the image results are the same), that I find myself missing the LB bendy action that I get with the others - not that it's any "better" or "worse" you understand, just that it's a different experience. If any of you have started your LB experience with the Composer, I recommend you also get yourself a "bendy" as well (the old 1.0, 2.0, or the new Muse) - if after trying it out you find the whole LB thing to be a keeper - just so you can experience that side of it too.

This forum is the most fun I've had in a while with photography. I don't know if it's the cold, dreary weather, but I've been in the dumps, and it was starting to leak into my photography. What I love most about the LB is how a scene/subject can be transformed from boring to magical - just like that! :o)

This is an older shot from my first experiences with the LB...

Yeah, that's why I sold mine. LOL This has really opened my eyes to the possibilities though. I'm wondering if I'd like Composer more. Fabulous work, folks. MORE MORE!!!

Yeah, I have to admit I had a "whaaaaa???" reaction when I heard you were selling your LB - thought it would be right up your street, really, was sorry to hear it didn't work out for you.

The learning curve can be pretty steep - I think I had my first one for a year before I stopped being continually frustrated with it. I say we all silently cheer on Jutilda to give it another go!

I think the additional joy comes not just from owning and exploring with this Baby - but finding like minded folk to hang out with as we explore it.

Sure it's fun on it's own - but I feel like I've stumbled upon a 'tribe' in this side challenge - a tribe that understands me, a place where I belong - GRIN!

I love how many people have expressed their joy at this thread - it's like Peace, Love & Lensbabies!

I was saying to ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', '/') + 1) . ' Ecce Signum earlier today, that I love that my Lensbaby has me 'feeling' my camera and photography more than ever.

With it I need to spend time - not just shoot quickly from the hip, as I'm often prone to do.

This Baby makes me 'BE' in the moment with it - it's good for me - SMILE!

Edit to add - I have the bendy one and I'm so glad I do - it's so much FUN to play with.

Yup i agree, I was surprised when she said in a PM that she was getting rid of it back in Dec. I would say that the composer is a bit easier to use and get the shot that you are envisioning and much easier to duplicate if you wanted to tweak a setting or two. On the other hand I do find myself missing the unpredictably of the 1.0 and tehe hands on approach when shooting with it...so I decided to hang on to the original and have both, for those times that I want to "feel " the moment so to speak. So get a composer Judy and hop on in, the water is fine!
