Challenge: Midday Sun
Description: Take a Photograph using the light from a midday sun.
I figure this lighting is the hardest to work with, I mean its called a "challenge" right? |

| the challenge would be to find the sun - even mid day here in Alaska during the winter. Now if it did appear then this would be cool as the sun us never very high this time of year and I could essentially be shooting with early day / late afternoon type sun. :D |

| The sun came up today - then went down 5 hrs and 24 minutes later. It never topped the trees. lol |

I am near Seattle. For us, this challenge needs to run at least for 6 weeks to give us any hope of catching a glimpse of sun in the middle of winter.

I was thinking of the same idea myself. I have managed to take some interesting shots in midday sun, usually by taking detail shots that made use of the light instead of a broad scene. One potential problem might be identifying if something really was a midday sun pic. This shot of mine has been thought to be taken late at night, when it actually is afternoon.
I can see a lot of debate over what fits the challenge and what is DNMC. (See Shutterpug's previous post) How would you define it?

LOL! Six weeks in July/Aug. Even then, it's iffy. :) |
