When I was small I often used to sit somewhere around a corner with my dog and cry and felt that no-one understands me. DPC makes me feel that all over again.

There were some truly awesome entries in there..... glad I didn't enter! ;)
A lot were excellent, a lot stuck to the challenge subject, but there were a few... dare I say it... that had no shadows whatsoever in them........ |

After the challenge completes, I will ask you to point to the images with "no shadows whatsoever". I believe each image had shadows somewhere. Maybe you should look again. |

In all fairness, after voting I went back and counted 7 photos that had "No shadows whatsoever". Also, I'm glad I didn't enter as well, there would have been 8 ...LOL... I couldn't come up with anything. :( Props to everyone who gave it a go, I found it particularly tough...

Indeed. A proportion is down to individual perception. Some people see things others don't.

All of you who thinks that there are no shadows in the pics, whats your definition of shadows? Mine is 'A shadow is an area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to obstruction by an object' and I picked it up from wiki .. by googling 'shadow' ... |

Actually, the entire definition is "A shadow is an area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to obstruction by an object. It occupies all of the space behind an opaque object with light in front of it. The cross section of a shadow is a two-dimensional silhouette, or reverse projection of the object blocking the light"
So yes, by that definition, there are 3 photos that have absolutely 0 shadow, and there are 4 others where the shadow is so minimal, that you wouldn't know that the theme of the photo was supposed to be shadow. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bash anyone's shot, I'm just trying to make the point that there were some photos which didn't meet the theme of the challenge. I think that's what Rainbow was getting at too.

Still disappointing but better then it was. Im so sorry for some of you guys to. Lets hope Santa stops by tonight and gives us all a 10 for being good boys and girls. |
