This movie is not all about the end of the earth but end of Keanu Reeves. The movie is pointless and horrible, it sucked big time. I Made a big mistake going and paying money to see this crap.

The whole story turns around only 5 people, and we really think human kind is the best in the universe, even aliens can't stand against a crying woman and a kid... What the hell was that about...

*Make a note to myself, never see another Keanu Reeves movie again, until hear something good after DVD comes out.*

my friend said we were going to watch the movie the other night. i was excited and didnt suspect anything for about 5 minutes into the movie, and i actually thought they intentionally trying to make the opening looked like some classic video recordings of the past, but i was wrong - we were watching the 1951 version of the show! =_="

the original 50s movie was brilliant. I've heard nothing but bad things about the newer remake.

I haven't seen this movie but it looks like a quasi ripoff of the fantastic four:Silver surfer movie. Am I close or way off.

I did not watch the original movie from 50s. I only watched this one. I was hearing this "you should have watched the original so you'd appreciate the new version" thing, but do I really have to watch the original to appreciate the new? I mean it's not like sequence; it's the same movie remake. Why am going to watch Rambo to watch Rambo?

Intention is good, to bring mankind together for a cause since we can't do that by ourselves but here is what's wrong with this movie, the way it was represented. This was an old Godzilla movie made in US, that bad it was. The cast acted pretty badly. Scenes pasted very fast, it's like "let's get over with". Especially the kid... I wanted to slap him so bad. It's not his fault though, the script sucked. Good lord, if you want to make a remake an old movie, instead of putting millions of special effects, work on the script a little more, and have them interesting for this generation.

Have any of you ever read the short story? I'm amazed that they were even able to make a movie...

I think the 50s movie was closer to the radio play than the original story.

I read they actually use a theremin in the remake's soundtrack. I'll bet it doesn't top the music in the 1951 version, though.

Yea, if you had seen the original movie- you would've hated this one more than you did.

The original was based off the radio play (at least from what I've read). My problem with Keanu is whenever I see him in a movie I sit there and wait for him to say "Strange things are afoot at the Circle K." But he never does, well he did once.

it must be great making a career from being wooden.

I was watching some movie with Reeves as a baseball coach for a team of disadvantaged kids... he sucked in that too; he threw his arms around a lot and flailed a bit but his face never changed expression. It's weird.
