Is it January yet???

Count me out for now. My Lensbaby arrived today and it is NOT a Canon mount despite the fact the box says it is. I called B&H, arranged a return. Unfortunately, they have no more in stock and no date as to when they will be in stock.

Would anyone like to buy the pinhole/zoneplate optic that will arrive later this week in a separate shipment? I'll have no use for it now.

If it works on the 3G, yeah...

the swappable optics don't work on anything but the new Lensbaby models - Muse, Composer, and Control Freak

Deb, I'm sorry to hear about your LB mixup - surely it won't take all of January to get it cleared up, so join in as soon as you can. Also, I wouldn't recommend selling the optic - you will use it eventually when the Canon LB Composer comes through for you, right?

I didn't re-order. Not sure if I will or not. Very depressed. I think it was because I was just SO SO SO excited when it came today and there is not a whole lot going on right now that cheers me up, so having it not fit was a major letdown.

Why not go buy the cheapest Nikon (or whatever it fits) you can find and have a dedicated LB camera? Now, there's a thought :-)

I don't even know what it fits. I think I need less equipment, not more. In fact, I should sell the second body I have. Already sold the 70-200.

I was looking at this too and the optics will work from what I read online for the 3G.
Original==Muse, Composer==New Composer, & Control Freak==3G. I'll try to find the documentation supporting this....

ETA - Found it!

no - as far as the equalities you are right - the muse is comparable to the original, the control freak is comparable to the 3G, but the swappable optic system is only for the new system - they will not work with the older lensbaby models; in fact Lensbaby immediately stopped production on their older models when they announced the new line.

Oh no Deb! I have been so looking forward to what you'd do with a Lensbaby, that lens was made with you in mind I'm sure.

You take the most beautiful emotive images, sometimes funny as, often very poignant, it's images like yours that keep me lurking here and inspire me to keep trying to capture something with some feeling and a story to tell.

Count me in, already got my Lensbaby for Xmas and am ready to use it.

RKT, I'd say Lensbaby owes you a big commission check!

That sucks, Deb! How about just order from //www.lensbaby.com/ and have BH refund?

If you try to order from Lensbaby directly, you'll find out they are out of stock as well. But the very nice Director of Customer Happiness told me she'd send me one. So I ordered again and will ship the wrong one back to B&H this afternoon. With the holidays I don't expect to see it until after the new year, but hopefully not too long after that.

I'm glad you were able to get one Deb...I was going to suggest Amazon.com if you weren't able to find one. That's where I ultimately ordered my LB2.

Yes, I was going to try older models next - at the moment, it appears no one (I checked Amazon.de and local stores here) has any of the new models and the only thing that would be available is on-hand stock of the older ones or something used from eBay.

Count me in...

Just checked - the US amazon.com page has them in stock now (Composer for Canon)! (Well, four of them anyway.)

Did another dry run last weekend.

First usable shot I got since getting the LB Composer today! Slight learning curve but fun lens!

Got my Composer yesterday, woot! Though I don't get to officially play with it until next week. I did sneak it out for a few shots indoors and it is quite easy to use, can't wait for January now.

I'll need to clean the dust off my LB but you can definitely count on me for at least 1 LB shot a week :)

Anyone wanna trade their Composer for my 2.0?

LOL, nice try! But I don't think you'll have any takers!
