Can anyone give me some advise on shooting some signage for my website, I need to photograph some gold metalic signs but have a problem with reflections and the images really do need to be spot on.

I'm on a tight budget and don't have any professional facilities other than my camera.

So is there any cheap ways of producing good images without the need for expensive flashes and diffusers etc.

Small, big, inside, outside, is it up high, etc? It's difficult to give help without further information.

The sign is 12inches long by 3 1/2 deep. can be moved and is mounted on a wooden base.
the material is plastic with a brushed metal finish.

Try using two bright lights to illuminate it from both sides -= lights should be at an angle 30-45 degrees to the plane of the sign so they shine across it rather than "at" it. Make sure your camera is centered on the sign and with the sensor plane exactly parallel to the sign to prevent and "keystone" distortion.

A polarizing filter may help you out (then again, maybe it won't!)... it might be worth a try to see if one will cut down on the glare a bit for you. They help out in some unique situations.
