Hi,

DPC Olympics Team UK currently has a vacancy. If you wanted to take part but didn't get in a team, or came late to the party (in which case have a look in this thread for an idea of what it's all about) then send me a PM or reply in this thread.

In the event that I'm inundated with replies (hope springs eternal) I'll try and work on a first-come-first-served basis.

Eligibility requirements:

Were you born in Britain?
Have you any distant relatives that were born/live in Britain?
Have you ever been to Britain?
Could you if pushed point to Britain on a map (of Britain)?
Have you heard of a country called Britain?

If any of the answers to the above questions are yes, you're in :-)

I am interested! It's been a while since WPL2 :)
Oh, btw, I did pass through a bit of Britain - shuttled from Gatwick to Heathrow. LOL

If the entry list is still open I would like to stick my name down.

I think Dirt Diver indicated that there are no replacements allowed as it's too much work to change the results page.

Wow. This is unfair. I asked him directly after week #2 and he said no.

Our problem is that Jaques has not taken part in any of the challenges or replied to any of our attempts to contact him since he first signed up and we got started. The scores of the new person would only count from the current challenge onwards and as we are working on a first come first served basis it is not as if we are finding the best on the site to represent us although that would be nice LOL.

We have the exact same problem. If he has approved this, I would expect a notification for all of the teams to keep it fair.

Guess we missed the ball on that one. :P

I dunno we gave him OneSaint and he accepted and we now have a new team member

Wow. this is totally unfair. We have been missing a member since the start as well and were told we were not allowed to replace. (Team Canada 1)

However, since this is now allowed, I have started a thread for anyone interested in joining us for the last 5 weeks on Team Canada 1.

PM already sent. thanks.

Obviously if it is allowed for one team it must be allowed for the others, and if it is allowed then I would hope that the new Brit member's score would not count for this week, so that other teams in the same situation have a chance to replace as well. (not that it is life or death or anything...it is just a game after all, but should be done fairly)

I have asked DD to comment officially as to whether the Brit team really did get a replacement and what the status is on the whole mess. Hopefully we will have clarification soon.

In the meantime....good luck to all at rollover. :)

Allowing replacements is news to USA-NE. We're a 7 person team, as we never heard anyhing from one member after sign-ups.

These replacements will not be applied to the alternate scoring, FYI.
