As you may have noticed, the results of the Wheels challenge have been recalculated due to a disqualification. As per standard procedure, we requested proof on the top 5 entries from this challenge. As we did not receive a response from the photographer of the former second-place image, that image has been disqualified.

Please remember, we MUST receive a response to all requests for proof within 48 hours!

Congratulations to agwright and Gringo on their new second and third place finishes.

How would they give 'proof'?

When a request for proof is made, an email is sent out to the photographer along with a notification box on their dpc home page, both linking to a page where the original photo can be uploaded.

That is really a shame. In my opinion it was by far the best photo in the challenge.

Maybe you should consider giving people more time to respond. He may have simply been away for a couple of days on business or whatever. 48 hours doesn't seem fair.

He had 4 and a half days to submit, well over the usual 48 hours. He had also been online logged into DPC since the proof was requested.

Yes, and since it was a ribbon winner he should have known he had to provide the original photo as proof. I guess it was fair after all. It's still a shame though.

If you were logged on to the site after voting ended, and saw that your entry had won you your first ribbon, why wouldn't you submit an orignal file?

If a user is going to be away for an extended period of time, we encourage them to submit their photo in advance. This can be done by using the request validation button, and including a note explaining why you are submitting.

In this case, as Konador mentioned, we gave the user 4½ days, and the user did log on to the site in that time.

The reason for the 48-hour requirement is so that we can act on all requests on a timely basis; if we waited much longer Gringo would have been denied the opportunity to appear on the front page at all for his 3rd place finish, and that would be unfair to him.

Just curious... you asked me to submit the original file from my 'Wheels' experience :), a few days after the challenge was finished.

Since it came 18th (now 17th, I guess), may I know what was the reason for this?

Well, that puts me 92nd then :) same as for my fire challenge and there were 170 more entries for this.

We're just collecting good photos for our personal archive. :)

Though, the question was for Terry, since you replied - here is another one - should I take your reply as s true statement, or a graceful way to avoid answering my question?

mk was just being sarcastic and commenting on the note you left us in the editing details box.

It\'s not like I won the challenge this time... Maybe youre collecting good photos for your personal archive? :)

Proof was requested because one member thought the photo looked edited beyond the rules, but as you know, it wasn't, so there's nothing to worry about :)

I knew there was nothing to worry about, but had thought it was weird how someone thought abt me breaking the rules after the challenge was finished... or maybe there are too many requests for you to process? How things are going that wouldn't be surprising.

Dear all,

Thank you for your support.
I am really sorry that I have no idea that being a winner must submit orginal file. It's my mistake of not reading the rules throughly. :P
I do not know that I have to visit this site everyday to check the post.
In my sense, I submitted a photo, got voted, got result and that's all.

Anyway, it's nice to receive your support and I will continue to enter the challenge.

Happy shooting,

Terence Yam (Terrentius)
