Looking forward to seeing every one's 'Slice of Life'.

i hope no-one minds me putting two other shots in from today coz one looks pretty funny and the other one is a wonderful story ..
the funny one is katee's expression .. for Ken and sherpet .. i tried to take the shot from the other side so you could see wot the vet was doing, but there wasnt enough room .. bet you're grateful for that small mercy ..

this one is the wonderful story .. the woman who brought the dog on the left into the surgery was saying that she adopted it 6 months ago when its previous owners went overseas ... the dog would have been euthanased if she hadnt taken it .... the dog is 14 years old .. talk about aging gracefully .. katee is the dog on the right ..

My series of images for this November 'Slice of Life' side challenge will be mostly postcards, of the wonderful wildlife and the awesome beaches we have here at Caloundra.

Like Roz says, I feel these two images belong together, as they tell a story, and that is what the 'Slice of Life' is all about.....

This is my favorite place here at Bullcock Beach, where we often see Percy the friendly Pelican.

Here is another one of Percy with all his seagull friends settling down for the evening, just before the sun sets.

Enjoy.....

Day 1
11/01/2008 10:02:25 AM · #9
We are in the middle of the autumn leaves season, and about half of the trees still have their leaves and the other half don't. This is a lake where I sometimes go running.

Not too exciting a picture, but I was busy, so I just took one of the orchid, I got for my birthday last week.

Roz, I owe you an apology - I was excited about this side challenge (my first) and put the coffee on and sat down to see if anyone had posted already and was enthralled with your images and stories and did write comments on all three of your images but I think just moved on to the next and never hit "post"..... Will try to re-create here and try again.

Day 1 - A dog

Another dog for today. Taken with my new camera that arrived this morning. I'm going to have to read the owners manual!

Day 1.....Leaves are almost done here, too, but still very pretty. It was said that this year was one of the worst turnings in years, but I guess it just must be perspective. It is soooooo beautiful here where I live. I'll try to get some good tree shots.

Taken yesterday but with this challenge in mind, as I knew I'd not be out today.

Another lake where I go running, this time a sunset view. Tonight they move the clocks back one hour, which means that next week when I run after work it will be dark instead of light. :-( Hate that, also because it means winter is on its way.

First slice of life shot -- we walk around our neighborhood as often as we can so I'll probably find a lot of interesting shots on those walks, although its getting dark earlier and earlier (not to mention the time change) and I may have to find other sources of inspiration!

Walk through the woods with my son, of course he scared away all the wildlife. LOL!
