How can I make this (and other simmilar) Fall picture look good... it looks a little too flat to me... and NOT overprocessed... please give me some tips...
anything I do to it makes it look overprocessed... I was discussing this earlier this month and took some suggestions and shop with better light... It looked great through the viewfinder... please give me some tips,

First off, I think it looks a bit dark. A Curves adjustment to lighten it a bit would probably help. I might also go into Hue&Sat and desaturate the blues/cyans just a little (perhaps 5 points), to keep the sky from looking too abnormal.
Otherwise, I rather like it - I think it has decent dimensionality, the trees standing out from the sky (they're all a pretty uniform brown, but nothing to be done about that, nor is it a bad thing - they just aren't going to pop from each other much because of it).

that makes a great difference....
I would be inclined to see how it looks with a few more white fluffy clouds......just to see if it adds to it...
but looks great........
and how about a huge whale tale sticking out the water with a huge splash......lol - no scratch that ....

I don't have an edit of the photo for you, but I do have some advice. That image shows a lot of sensor dust. Two obvious dust grains are on the edges. One on the left side, just above the trees, and one on the right, halfway up the sky. I could see 3 other faint grains toward the center as well. You should clean the sensor in your camera so that it doesn't leave artifacts in your future photos.

Thanks everyone... yea the sensor dust... that's the way she goes... I usually clean it out but I took about 500 pics that day and changed my lens about 30 times... so... yea... can only clean it so many times =) they can usually be cloned out afterwards...
I haven't been too happy with my fall leaf pictures this year... partly because in my southern Ontraio area, the leaves changed very oddly this year... half of them changed very early, and then fell off the trees quickly... that's why there are a lot of brown patches in amongst the scarce colorful trees...
Thanks again everyone =) |
