Welcome aboard!

Am thinking I should sort this before trying any pinhole shots! Its 100% crop of a recent shot and am somewhat suprised as I (thought) I took care changing lenses and alsway switch the cam off whilst changing.

I was just checking a pinhole shot last night, and my sensor looks to be in about the same condition. Yikes!

yes, lensless photography has a tendency to reveal such things...that's a pretty big cloning job you have there!

Karen, for this SC is it legal to use textures and composites - if everything is done with a pinhole?

The only requirement is that the shot be taken via pinhole or zone plate. What you do after that is up to you. There is no such thing as "illegal" editing in this side challenge.

I tried with a piece of film held against my lens, but I don't think it worked, :-(

I will be watching the image thread though. :-)

Karen, I want to play...been traveling and will start posting in about a week or so when I get back home. Pinhole/zoneplate is something I haven't tried yet so I'm looking forward to this.

Gentle bump, have just submitted my day 11 shot in this thread. And, if you have never tried pinhole photography you should, I'm seeing things differently now and whilst I doubt know we will ever see a dpc ribbon for a pinhole shot its damn good fun! Well, maybe we will see a ribbon as I'm considering entering the Masters challenge with a pinhole shot lol.

If anybody is interested just found the site that made my pinhole, they will etch a pinhole lens to your black body cap, looks like the price has gone up to £25 mind you! linky

Any troubles accumulating sensor dust in your pinhole exposures?... I want to try this, but I only have one Dslr and I don't want to mess it up with pinhole exposures.

I hated that about my older pinhole experiments too. Then I got this "no-dust" version and I use my pinhole cap a lot more now. [FYI I pointed this link to the Nikon body cap, since you have a Nikon, but Canon users have an option too - just click on the "Digital Pinhole Body Caps" link on the left].

The upshot is that you will collect more dust with a regular pinhole, so you have to decide how much you want to spend on cleaning your sensor. Good news is that cleaning your sensor really isn't that perilous or difficult, with the right tools.

I've had the pinhole on my cam all month and not noticed any increase in dust and, tbh the hole is so small I doubt anything would get in (I have a small bit of lintless cloth taped over the hole when not in use (and often forget to remove it lol).
