Holy cow! I just now (finally) took a look at the images in the challenge. I'm sorry I missed out on voting. There are some abso-fricken-lutely awesome images in there.

So I guess the secret to seeing better / more creative images here on DPC is to have better / more creative weekly themes!

My hats off to the many participants. Ya'll blew me away!

You beat me to it David. I think the top 10 images are superb and 11-20 are virtually their equal. Great job! A real pleasure to view. The creativity was out in force!

That was one of the funnest to shoot and then vote on. What a blast!! Virtually all the shots rocked in one way or another!!

I had fun. Came in with the brown, but cleaned up on comments from perplexed voters.

I ended up with a fairly poor score but I had a blast shooting it and I received some good comments from great photogs so I'm happy. I figured the modern day take wouldn't fly so well, but who cares ;P

I love all these pictures! Usually when a challenge ends, I go through the just the top ten and look at them (cuz of the little time I have), but I just kept going cuz they are all soooooo good! They all look like "still" photos from a movie or something.

I thought it was a dull challenge. I guess my hopes were too high.

I thought the same thing when I was voting on it and my average vote given for the challenge was close to 7.0 (I wish those stats would stay with the challenge and not only show up in voting).

I suspect this challenge veered away from your "type" of photo... ;) Not exactly an 'Abstract Emotion' challenge. :P

Strongly suited to those with time for pre-setup (fabricated) shots and even better with a willing model, for sure.

The topic itself? Or the images entered? I'm curious what might have "made the grade" for you?

I'm still in awe at the images entered, I thought many of them were very creative, emotive and technically solid.

Yes, that would have been nice.

I would like to have seen pictures that stimulate instead of simulate.

Did you hit your head and forget that this happens in every challenge? DPC challenges have always been good for just two things and that is improving one's technical abilities and learning how to be a better stock photographer. That's it. Now if you dig around the challenge results or the side challenges or individual portfolios then you might find those truly creative and original images, the kind that extend stories and not rewrite them.

I judge challenges by the number of exceptions to the rule. :) This challenge had very few exceptions, very few exceptional.

My image was so much fun to shoot!!!! We had a blast shooting it and getting weird looks from my neighbors! One of the bands I am working with saw the image and we start filming this weekend for a music video!!! I will be sure to post it once it's all said and done! Just goes to show you... what bombs on DPC is a big hit elsewhere! :)
