"You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn't care anything about. That's a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking."

I certainly feel much more informed now. Those links don't however make me feel any better about Obama's ascendency to the Presidency. Nor the multitudes singing his praises as if he were a mesiah. Nor the blatant MSNBC/CNN bias towards his candidacy. But it is refreshing to know that McCain at least has a plan to raise some money for our debt. Kind of like Andre' Marou's (Libertarian) proposal during the election of Bill Clinton to sell California beachfront property (aka Naval bases) to the highest bidder. It made sense then, I suppose this might work as well.

Oh, come one. Trying to raise fears about Obama as a cult leader is obviously just a ploy. Republicans love religious cults. Check out Sarah Palin's history. Most of the Republican "base" is a religious cult.

I think the problem is that they believe they're the Messiahs, so anyone else being compared as such must be in league with Satan.

The use of the terms "ascendency" and "multitudes", etc., is just more bull. The fact that many voters are eager for change does not mean they think Barack Obama is a messiah. Please stop lying.

I agree MSNBC is heavily biased with a liberal viewpoint; of course you hate it, but no doubt you can now understand why so many people dislike Fox News and its years of extremist, distorted reporting. And by the way, I think MSNBC (Olbermann, Maddow, et al) still cares about fact checking, something Fox gave up on long ago.

We agree on Olberman/Maddow being heavily biased with a liberal viewpoint. However, I maintain their need to balance out the Limbaus and Hannity's and Colters. If you have not watched O'Reily since his interview of Barack, you may be surprised to find of his continued defense of Obama on a multitude of interviews with guests. He is critical of Obama's tax plan but that is in my opinion a personal matter as he most likely falls into the >250K category. I still prefer Chris Matthews (as he has demonstrated over decades to be non partisan in his attacks - evidenced by his relentless pursuit of Clinton;s daliances while in office) and Brit Hume who hosts such diverse comentators as Bill Crystal and Juan Williams, providing a balanced persepective. I have long enjoyed the insight from Pat Cadel as well as Carl Rove and try to catch Hitchens whenever he is guesting somewhere. fwiw.

I think he's saying it's irrelevant.

LOL! So, if Pat Robertson declared McCain to be the second coming of Jesus, would that effect your vote? If so, then please stay home on election day. The only thing worse for democracy than those that don't vote is those who vote ignorantly.

Ooops, Sorry. I see that who I was responding to was ambiguous. Yes, I was replying to the original post.

My problem isn't with Farrakhan making the statement but more of wondering what Obama thinks of himself. It would be pretty hard not to be a little caught up in his own press and think of himself a little more than he is.

I wish he had more time in the senate before taking this leap into a run for the presidency in order to get a better fix on who he really is and not just this rock star image that we have of him now. If he had waited to run then maybe we wouldn't be so worried about past associations and could look to a more lengthy record that would show who he really is and what he is capable of in the way of positive change.

never mind. I kind of agree with dp... unfortunately, he's the only reasonable choice.
