Sorry about the DQ though, SC probably won't ever go back on one, so you're probably just going to have to chalk it up to experience and try and keep better detailed processing notes next time. heh.

You can rotate in Basic:

RULES: You may:

crop, rotate and resize your entry.

I didn't mean rotation would be a reason to DQ, I meant rotation would be a reason for why it didn't line up for me in photoshop.

As for the DQ, I don't agree with it now that the evidence is in, but I also don't think SC will un-DQ it.

OK, gotcha...no probs...I agree, it probably won't be reinstated which is a shame

Why would it NOT be reinstated? He was wrongfully DQ'd. Surely the SC isn't unfair, at least in that manner. They usually do a great job in keeping the challenge entries straight and fair. It should be just as easy to go back and reinstate one as it is to DQ one after the challenge has ended...unless there is some other precipitating factors that we don't know about. Come on SC, weigh in on this one.

Absolutely terrible decision, this image needs to be reinstated immediately.
Not just because he is a Polish DPCO team mate but because it is painfully obvious there is nothing wrong with the image.....

Now hang on a minute. While I am totally in agreeance with you all.....we have only heard one side of the story. Wait until SC come in and explain their reasoning's for their decision before we all go hoo-haaing around, prepping for burning their village.

I am just as guilty for jumping to assumptions based on only half the story and many a time I would love to burn the village of an SC or two (and still do, but that's a different story).....but I think we really do need a voice from SC in here. Until then, let's just wait and breathe a little.

SC.....please....a little input here would settle things before they get out of hand. I am fully aware that you aren't all online all the time...but at least someone please come and say something...even to let people know that you may be discussing the situation would help a lot.

Gave it a shot my self in PS, it all seems very above board and legal, SC seem to be wrong here.

I'll bring the beer. Nothing goes better with a burning village than a cold beer!

Deafening silence from the SC's backroom here. Hope you will be released, AP. Free AP.. he's innocent! ;-)

The photo should be reinstated and AP should be given at least 1 years free membership :)

Oh come on, you all know that the SC are a pretty fair lot. From what I have heard, they have rescinded on a photo or two that was DQ'd . Give um a little time!

I just hate to say " I told you so" so I am not going to!!! heheheh

WoooooooooHooooooooooo. Let's get the party going! And, if you don't remember it, it couldn't have possibly happened.

Yeah the image appears fine and shouldn't have been DQed imo. However coming off a weekend I'd give the SC a bit more time to reply before burning anything.

Two problems they face by allowing a retraction are;

1) having to increase the placement for each entry after it, imagine finally getting 10th place then you are bumped to 11th, it hurts worse losing it once you have it, than never getting it in the first place. Not saying if this is a major, minor, or almost non-existent issue, just that it is there and they have to consider it.

2) The encouragement to others to harass the SC over future disqualifications, if members believe it is actually possible to get a DQ overturned they may be encouraged to harass the SC for it, even if the DQ was justified. And especially in cases of artistic license where the DQ might have been non-unanimous like spot edit DQs in advanced where there is not a clear line between allowed and disallowed.

I trust the SC will do what is right, but I can see them treading carefully on this issue as once they make their choice they won't easily be able to undo it and it may have lasting consequences regardless of their decision.

I was once in a chat, where moderators could ban members for a period of time for misbehavior, however they were unable to unban members by the chat system, thereby protecting them from nagging and the temptation to reverse a ban.

Aha... rotation! You didn't mention that in your editing details (ahem). Several of us, including me, tried to duplicate your entry, but couldn't get it to line up. *I* must have distorted it before rotating, because I tried that, too. I'll remove the DQ with our apologies. Only human, ya know. :-/

For future reference, the proper way to call this to our attention is via ticket, not a public forum.

But then how can the crazies have their fun? Come on, you know they need a little excitement once in a while. Nude challenge here, expert challenge there, OMGZ SC IZ COMMIES over there, you know, it's all good. :)

Dang, I overslept and missed this thread. Am I too late to burn someone's village?

Justice! That's beautiful. And now just look at your smoldering village, SC...could have been avoided.

Yep, (sob) it could have all been avoided (sob) if the photographer's steps were complete.
