Your probably right, I do'nt know why I am bothered by half a head, when I have chopped off he legs on my model. Talk about calling the kettle black.

I just looked through the thumbnails. Some gorgeous shots, as you would expect, but what's with so many non-studio, outdoor, non-portrait shots? DNMCs aplenty, by the look of it, or maybe there's a new DNMC Club I haven't heard about yet.

Are you suggesting that those DMNC non-studio shots had no effort into them? :0
Pardon me, but I put lots effort into meeting the DMNC category :P

You don't need a studio to make a portrait look like it was in a studio. If someone can't, they shouldn't enter. Otherwise it's like shooting birds for a "Fish" challenge.

Of that I am sure, and as you know, we did get a few birds in the last fish challenge. :D

Yeah, lots of outdoors portraits... this is why I don't vote challenges I enter. I would have to vote all of those down because they aren't studio portraits... *sigh* me and my morals...

I think my score has settled for a number :)

How do you know they are outdoors and not some super fancy studio that has outdoor settings? eh eh?

Interesting challenge to say the least.

A) Studio ... a lot of shots were def not studio shots

B) Basic Editing ... a lot of shots have more then basic editing

C) Portrait ... WTF are all the shots in there that don't even include a living being in them?

I'm at 5.90 right now, and once again after having not entered in a while see that DPC hasn't changed much over the years.

The lighting :) I know you can simulate outdoor light indoors to a degree, but most people would want studio lighting in a studio to avoid harsh shadows and blow outs :)

Besides, if you made your studio look like your yard for a studio portrait challenge... no comment :)

Well considering all the talk of non studio shots in here.... I have a very nice, actual studio shot and I am getting pummelled! I will be really pissed if I see shots above mine in the end that were not taken in studio!

My shot in a studio, with studio lighting is getting killed. Hovering right about a 5. The pose is pretty mundane but the light is good and the colors accurate. It's certainly not as bad as the 1 that it just got.

well I just sank below a 5. sigh...

what is going on with this challenge? I also have a shot that, as far as I can tell, is a decent quality studio portrait. I am sitting at 4.8?

so disappointing and hard to explain.

unless my model is just unappealing to people, or there is some weird color cast that I missed (being color blind sucks in color challenges {grin}) I am quite confused about the scoring I am seeing and others are reporting.

If you know what you're doing, you can make studio light look like sun light. Keep that in mind ;-)
