I am going cross eyed looking at these glasses.

So what is the equivalent of a 70-200 in Tamron and a 24-70, or at least the closest to it??

Anyone??

Tamron 70-200 and 28-75, respectively. Of those, the 28-75 is a very good deal that offers image quality comparable to the Canon at a much lower price. For the telephoto I'd rather have Canon's 70-200 f/4L, with or without stabilization.

Basically, it boils down to this, I was looking at a package deal with those two Canon lenes and a 5d body for 2 grand.

Then I looked at individual lens to see if it was cheaper. I have an 18-55, 10-22, and 75-300, so didnt want to repeat those lenes.

then I found a used Mark iii for 800 on b&H

Then I looked at the 50d then the upgrade, and now I am so damn confused that my head is spinning and I am not going to buy anything cos I am lost in the sea of bodys and lenes

that price seems very cheap. Have you checked the seller's reputation on Reseller Ratings?

I recently replaced my Canon 17-85 IS with the Tamron 28-75 2.8 and I've been happy with it although I do miss the image stabilization. I wanted the 2.8 for doing weddings and I also knew my next DSLR would be a full frame the the Canon 17-85 wasn't going to work on the full frame. I had heard good things about it and didn't want the price and weight of the Canon 24-70 and then I heard Will Crocket at ShootSmarter saying great things about it so I went for it. It's been good but haven't yet run it through any true sharpness tests like shooting a grid etc.

The 5D at my office sports a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8.
