I need to design a business card for 1) when I'm out shooting landscapes, etc., I've met people interested in buying prints, and I want to be able to give them a card linking to my website, and 2) I'm now doing some work for a local theatre program for high schoolers, headshots and show shots, and I want to be able to give out the cards to the parents.

I need to do one pretty quickly--there's a show starting next week, but I can't seem to find a good design on the sites where you design your card.

So if you'll be so kind, post a picture of your own card here, so I can see what people are doing and hopefully come up with some ideas.

If you have an idea for a card for me, I'd love to see it!

This is our current card (our phone number has been removed for web showing). We used Vista prints for the cards and went with the 100lb matte. We really like them.

One tailored to Weddings & Portraits, etc:

Not sure just yet which of these 3 for general use:

(Think I'm leaning towards the lightning shot anyway - waiting on my
printer to see what his opinion is regarding how well the tiffs will print)

I wanted to keep it simple with a good image for background...

When I read this I remembered a couple of sites that I found through StumbleUpon that had some really cool business card ideas, so I looked for them and found them -

//creativebits.org/cool_business_card_designs
//www.crazyleafdesign.com/blog/35-cool-and-inspirational-business-card-designs/
//freelanceswitch.com/general/18-smokin-hot-business-card-designs/
//inspiredology.com/cool-business-cards/

Probably not what you're looking for if you need them by next week, but there are some pretty cool things in there for inspiration in the long run!

There's someone on Flickr with an amazing collection. I don't remember who though, I'm so helpful :):)

Here's the front and back of mine. Text goes in bottom right of the front.

i once picked up a cool "trick" to do for business cards:
make a few different designs (all similar in font and outer appearence) so your potential clients can choose which one they want or even pick one of every design. that way you will get more attention on your cards and your business than just handing out one.

here are mine (only a concept tho):

i have a resized version and i order prints online and go pick them up at walmart or walgreens ...so the set up is this

i print out a 5x7 printout and it actually fits 2 per card so what i do is cut them up .
at school or somewhere where they have a paper cutter and the flyer card has a little more information than the buisness card as well as a small preview but its really good i mean its all donr in photoshop and the cards only cos about 8 dollars for a couple 30 x2 60 cards ..depending on how much each print cost so far i havent spent so much on them and i also post up the image on myspace and stuff to people arround the area ...great advertisement

your rite i thought he wanted to see them

anywyas this is a thread for buisness cards ..

i did my cards in like 3 hours

the size are 2x 3.5 inches and i noticed i can fit a couple of them on a 4x6 about three and its only 9 cents a print so i decided to print 10 4x6 total in buisness cards was 30 cards for about 3 dollars .. in my opinion if your passing them out on school and places where they have alot of people u end up spending less money for way more cards . but i havent looked arround online to see the prices ..

and onother thing they are glossy or matte and i think the cards i made resemble a picture for a wallet but with my information ill go ahead and post a picture of me set up sheet its not a fancy card but its simple

I tried to find an image that had a lot of fairly open areas with consistent colors so that I could place the text there without distracting background elements. This one seemed to fit the bill, so I went with it.

I wanted a card for the same reasons. This is what I came up with. I had it printed at OvernightPrints.

Same idea... (though I like your picture better!) :)

A clean image with a lot of negative space works really well for these, as you can use the negative space to put your text. The advantage here is that you are using your full image with all original colors (as opposed to a faded B&W conversion of a color image) to sell your work.

Awesome cards folks. Some great examples to inspire me.

Thinking about it, some more, I realize I should do the brochures first, since that will actually include the info they need to buy reprints.

Thanks again!

I'd actually like to hear what you guys think. I'm not really good at the whole graphic design thing.

I'd also love to hear what tools you folks are using to do camera ready copy--and how you are reprinting them. (So far, a few have mentioned at least where (which sometimes implies "how", like Mick.)

Zack - Your card looks very good to me; I am wondering whether it would balance better if the outer two shots were reversed in position.
