Id like some advice on how i can improve this photo in terms of editing

the first one is the one i edited ... and im not to happy with the editing but i cant seem to come up with something that works
Edit: thanks for the heads up i was trying to figure that one out

Cool shot. Here it is. Take just the number (721103) click the second icon in from the right and your image will show.

I tried a very quick edit on your first shot you posted and wrote the steps I took. At the resized for web file size, the sharpening did an ugly number on the sky trails, but it can give you the idea of first steps I would do.

ah wow thats a much bigger improvement than my version... unfortunately i dont have a raw file for this =( i shot in jpg at the time for space concerns (regret it till this day)
was taken a while back ... i now shoot in raw but to little to late as they say.
I will try doing what you recommend and see what i can come up with |

Spot edit the hot/stuck pixels (red stars that are not following the movement of the others)
Slight Noise Reduction
Curves will help the shot quite a bit
Highpass Sharpen will put an even more constrasty edge on the foreground. |

CS3, New layer blended in soft light @ 57%, flatten. Dodge and burn @ 5% to bring out detail, bump contrast about 20%, and save. Open in Noise Ninja, auto profiled. Hope this helps.
