Yep, pretty easy to tell, with a bit of confirming research. ;-)
However, generally I think this is a rather poor field of entries - many going for a humourous target but missing somewhat...

I have the feeling people think mine is DNMC... kind of. Blahblah blah. more griping about how people take the description too literally, blah blah blah.

So, at the moment it is looking towards a PB, whioh I won't complain about. However, I am now really leaving for the weekend (yep, have taken a few extra days as well) and are heading Skiing (Yes, its Winter Here in Aus, and yes, we do get snow)

Hopefully there will be good news when I get back.....

I should have entered this challenge, could have been in the top 54, instead of the bottom 100 in DOF.

I have such gripes with this challenge. The lot is pretty disappointing but about what I suspected. With the exception of 2 surprises that I voted for accordingly. :)

As for my entry. I'm teetering the line of 6 because people can't get off the fact that they think mine maybe doesn't fit the challenge. (which I thought we weren't supposed to vote down for DNMCs let alone "maybe" DNMCs) When it clearly does. If mine doesn't almost none of them do. Let me just say that much...

Obviously a personal opinion, yet other people will have their own take on it as well, considering participants at DPC are from all over the world (literally).

From the Voting Rules

You should:
- keep an open mind to other interpretations of the challenge topic.
- consider the challenge topic when voting, and adjust your score accordingly.

You illustrated my point exactly. Though I was incorrect on the scoring part, I was correct on the keeping an open mind. It's so frustrating for me to watch a shot I know should do well on here (for a change) go down the tubes because people are sticking to a rigid definition of the challenge. A definition that most of the entries don't fit.

But thats the purpose of having a challenge definition, isnt it? Otherwise all challenges would be free studies:-)

eh. no you are missing the point. My image does fit. It isn't just a shoe horn. But some people are taking the challenge so literally... to the point where I'd say, if you were to take it THAT literally, most of the challenge would be a DNMC. Have I not said that clearly enough? I'll explain further then without trying to give myself away...

The issue here is not with a person (check!). Or with an immovable object (check!) The problem is the subjective word of "trying". Is hands laid flat against a solid object the only way to fain "trying?" No I didn't think so. Is a wincing look of agony the only way to portray "trying"? No, I didn't think so. Yet if I had done these, cheesed it up a bit for the challenge, I would have had a much worse shot, but possibly a better score. It's pretty lame. In most cases, no one in ANY of the shots is actually "trying" to move the object. They are all pretending. Mine just didn't seem to pretend in the same way as the rest of them so I don't meet the challenge?

Lets all take our DNMCs and go home? Well no. I'm not saying that. I'm saying, if its a game of semantics, on this one everyone loses. So why point me out? ;)

I know I'm gunna get crap for this. But oh well.

No you are not gonna get c*ap for this, and your honesty and the way you stood for the point is commendable.

You may be right in a way, about some people taking the definition too literally. But please also consider this scenario: the one person who is taking this definition literally will probably do so with every entry he/she rates, more so becaue he/she wont know which one is yours. So in that sense, for just that one commenter, all entries will get fair relative scores on the same criterion. As you said, perhaps everyone will get a similar comment, and score. Fair? :-)

who'se pointing you out!? I know this challenge is getting NIT-PICKED for every little thing just because there are so few entry's but just take it with a grain of salt- I bet your score is _MUCH_ higher than mine- :-)

I've only voted on a few entries so far but I do vote down if I think the image is DNMC, maybe I don't think "outside the box" on some entries like I should to get the link but that's my perogative as a voter. I do get frustrated when a clearly DNMC shot gets to the front page, even though it is a great shot in itself, so I try to do my little bit to ensure this doesn't happen. And before anyone calls me a troll make sure you check my "average vote cast" statistic, I vote on a high scale to start with so "voting down" doesn't mean 1's and 2's.

I'm having lots of comments - 12 so far - which I think would be a record for me.

However it's mostly because people are thinking I'm a little DNMC!

So for anyone who cares - I checked the dictionary and this is what I've found - in part

...incapable of being moved from one's purpose, opinion, etc.; steadfast; unyielding

OR

...not moving; motionless

It's seems from that some peoples opinion of Immovable is steadfast & unyeilding - GRIN!

I must say I'm REALLY GRATEFUL for all the comments - I love that people have taken the time to let me know 'why' I'm doing so ordinarily!
