Hi to all the wonderful dp community.
I am sending out a request to all you community minded folks for some help. I am involved with a 24 hour cancer walk-a-thon, and my team is trying to put together a cookbook to sell. We need recipes. I would appreciate any stories you may have regarding a cancer experience, which will be placed in the book if I receive any stories. Not required, just a nice added bit to connect it to the walk-a-thon.
Why am I going to a photo community with my request? I also would love to have photos of your recipe, to also go into the cookbook. There can be no payment to those volunteering recipes and photos, as this is purely for a fundraiser. You don't have to send a photo, it would just be helpful so I don't have to make the recipe and photograph it myself.
The cookbook will hopefully be ready for publication by February, then it will go up for sale until our walk-a-thon in June. Why am I participating? My mother died from breast cancer in 1998, and my sister is currently in remission with breast cancer. We have 3 daughters between us, and I am just waiting for the axe to fall on me. The history is just too close. Hope it misses me, but as to our daughters, well our efforts might make things better for them in case they come up with cancer as well.
It is just a recipe. It won't take but a few minutes of your time. Please go to my dp profile when you have the recipe set, and just send it via dp mail.
Thanks in advance.

DP Recently had a "food" challenge, and you needed to submit your picture with a recipe.
As a teenager, I can remember my Mom and Aunt doing alot of Canning our own veggies and making pickles. My Aunt later in life was diagonosed with breast cancer, but is currently considered a cancer survivor!
Please feel free to use my submission called future pickle and the recipe that goes with it as a tribute to my "Aunt Pat", A realitive that evokes many pleasurable memories and someone I just never get a chance to see anymore.
