I'm at a bit of a loss to thoroughly explain this one, but here goes.

Make images that have that certain timeless sort of quality...no modern stuff...at all. It sounds challenging, but isn't that the point? I know I've got lots of old stuff laying around the house and I imagine I'm not alone. Gather it up and shoot a "vintage" still life. Go out and shoot that small town that seems to be lost in time. Take a "Victorian" portrait in all natural light. Our friends in Europe have excellent locations to peruse and shoot, all of us do really...Europe, Asia, America...you name it. Your subject matter can be old, the processing can hearken to yesteryear. Just keep the modern elements out of the frame.

Am I making sense? Here are some examples I came up with. Keep in mind I took the pictures only about 6 years ago:

I'll post some other examples from others after I go hunt 'em up.

Remember...just be creative and have fun with this.

Anyone game?

Is this a good example:

this is a restored photograph of my uncle. Find an old car and dress the part. Would make an interesting challenge.

I think that's pretty much the idea Scott...a recently taken photo, that looks like it could have been taken years ago.

I think this works as an example also...

I'm definitely in as long as can I raid the archives and/or work from pics taken in clusters and worked on as we go along. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it would be tough for me to take a photo-a-day, although I would certainly try.

Feel free to raid the archives. We always need an excuse to do that don't we. And feel free to go all the way up the to 1980s. I'd love to see a shot of someone sportin' a mullet and some acid wash jeans.

I haven't participated in a side challenge yet, but this sounds like a blast!!! It might be difficult to do a photo a day, with school and all, but my university was founded in 1840, so I'd love to try! Also, we just had an 80s dance party, so I can play that part!!! Maybe not the mullet though.......

So, you're saying that my mullet isn't cool anymore? Seriously? (Does it make a difference if I'm going bald on top?)

I think this is an awesome idea for a challenge. I have no idea what I would do for it, but the possibilities are endless. I just don't think I could manage a shot a day in this one. As a single challenge, though. . . I'd be all for it!

I have yet to finish a side challenge! I have been in such a slump lately, I hate it.

So I will join in since I love antiquated photos!

This is a great idea. With the conclusion of the DPC Olympics, i was thinking I would have to find a side challenge to keep up my steady shooting...now I find out there's another round starting in September already! I'll be keeping my eye on this thread though, and can't wait to see what you guys come up with!
