I dropped my 70-300 VR lens about two feet straight onto concrete. It seems ok, and i've been using for about a week now. But how can i make sure that nothing went wrong inside?

Take it (or send it) to a certified Nikon repair place. They'll test it out for you. My 85mm lens got whacked and it was repaired and thorougly tested for under $100.

Have you opened up the photos in photoshop yet? Should give you an idea if there is something wrong. If you don't want to pay to have it looked at.

yeah, i've looked at the photos, and they look fine
but i have a feeling that something might have gone wrong with the VR mechanism.
it's kinda hard to test

My Canon EF 70-200mm was dropped and everything looked fine when I took shots with it. As it wasn't my fault it was dropped, see the story here, I got them to pay for it to be sent back to Canon where it was checked and they found it wasn't producing sharp enough images.

It was fixed, cleaned and serviced for about £70.

Definately worth getting it checked!

Just this morning my tele lens rolled out of the truck when I opened the back hatch, I almost dropped to my knees and cried. Luckily it has minor scratches on the caseing but all else seems to be good...fingers are crossed hard.
