I use bluehost.com reasonable price, lots of space, and lots of goodies that are free to use. I've been with them for a couple of years now and haven't had any troubles. I've never heard of Freewebs though.

I use freewebs, have to get around the stupid button they put. Here's what I use:

It's the display:none that does it. The -200000000 means that it's about a billion miles behind everything else, lol.

Altho, now that I look at my site again, I see that I have a banner ad. Gonna have to get rid of that too.

ETA: don't buy domain names from there, though, netfirms.com has them for $5.95 a year. Netfirms is great, too, allows FTP upload and the banner ads are easy to get around: <body> . I should switch.

Kat, Do you have a link to your site? and do I have to build or get my own templates for this site?

Jessie The link for your site is not working from your profile page here, and I think you confused me with all that type? lol

I just started using them, finally get my site back up but no spare money. So far, so good, a few problems with the Beta version of the editor they have but otherwise doing okay. We'll see if I have to upgrade for more bandwidth later but for now it works okay.

Yeah, I need to change that :)

//www.jlynnrphoto.com

The business section is still under construction (my imagemap isn't working :( ) and I have to deal with that banner ad...blah.

The code I typed was a piece of CSS that I use to get rid of the buttons/banners/whatevers that say "powered by freewebs!" because they look unprofessional. lol, ironies, I got rid of those and now have to deal with a banner ad.

ETA: Ha-HA, success!! No more banner ad.

Solution: Around your tag, put

Like so:
<br></body> <br>

Unless you don't edit your own code?

Thanks Guys

One of the probs I am having with FW is the albums option is missing
from the new page link in classic editor and there is no help from the site to fix the prob.

Looking at Yahoo and inmotion for web hosting.
Kinda weird on the pricing for yahoo, My wife is in lower Arizona (Phx) and gets a price of 7.95 a month. I am in northern Arizona and my price is 8.95. Dont know why location should matter, its even the same internet provider, just a different city.

I've used freewebs and I've had no issues whatsoever, I used to have ryandunnewold.com, hosted through their site, I got it for $20 a year, and I never had issues.

eta: here is my current site (under construction)

I am using a free host called 000webhost.com and have had no problems. My website is jasonfredin.com
No cost and most of the features of a paid host. Just limited to things like 2 SQL databases and not much storage, that's where Flickr is really useful.

I just moved my portfolio site to 000webhost.com and it works really well. Better than my previous hosting service. They provide free SQL databases (having done anything with these yet), as well as PHP scripting.

Check it out: Gainous Photography

To the layperson, they would never know my site was hosted by a free hosting service. I did add a little advertisement for them at the bottom of the main page. They politely asked for all customers to do so. It's the least I could do.

Looks like they are checking you out dude... Your site is offline while they check the content!

My site is on freespace that I get from my ISP. Limited to 10MB of space, which is a bummer, though I recently revised the site and used the "save for web" option in PS to drastically reduce the size of my images though not to the point where the quality starts to degrade.

Bought the domain name through 123reg and have had it for around 3 years now. They provide e-mail forwarding etc.

Would love some opinions...

My site is back up and running. It passed their administrative checks with flying colors.

From what I hear, every new site their has to go through this initial review process which could take the better part of a day. I'm glad that it is over. Enjoy!

By the way, I get 1.5GB of free disk space. I've also hooked-up a contact form for viewers to contact me via email (without having to divulge my email address). Not bad for free. :-)

Enjoy!
