Not certain if this has been brought up before (nor where to put this topic).

It seems there is a new search engine called TinEye. You upload an image and it searches around for that image (pixel by pixel).

"TinEye could provide an entirely new way for image companies and amateur photographers to track how and where their images are being used, without the need for digital watermarks."

I found this discussed on SlashDot which had a link to this artical.

And "pixel by pixel" is probably not what they are doing...

I tried this on a few images that I knew were on the web, but it couldn't find them. This is clearly a work-in-progress. I'll keep my eye on it.
