I've been reviewing many of the old forum posts about getting calendars printed, and (I think) I'm down to my final choices for printers... I'd like to know if anyone has any recent experience with these, and what your opinions were.

Also, something I haven't seen much discussion on -- I'd love to know how the "branding" looks on these -- i.e. do they plaster their names all over them, do they let you upload or specify your own company name/logo, etc.

Below are my notes; they may be a bit cryptic, but they make sense to me. ;)

I'm considering:

//www.mpix.com/MpixPress/
$20/ea - wall, 8x11 -> $19/ea 2-10 -> $17/ea 11-50 -> $15/ea 51-100 -> 14/ea 100+
$20/ea - wall, 12x18 -> $19/ea 2-10 -> $17/ea 11-50 -> $15/ea 51-100 -> 14/ea 100+

//www.vistaprint.com/
$16/ea - wall
$7/ea - desk

//www.shutterfly.com/
$17/ea - wall (12 mo) -> $12/ea per 25 -> $10/ea per 50
$21/ea - wall (18 mo) -> $15/ea per 50
can add events
can add logo, but only from "pro gallery" account

Others I've researched, but not considering:

//www.dotphoto.com/
$22/ea - wall, 12 mo
price

//www.lulu.com/
$11/ea - wall, 12 mo
quality concerns noted by several users

//www.ritzpix.com/
$25/ea - wall, 12 mo
price

Feel free to comment on any of these, or suggest others...

- Chuck

I used Deviantart a few years ago....I liked their paper quality...I don't know if they still use it.

I've heard good things about Miller's Professional Imaging from some pro photographers. They mostly do pros.

I've never used that site before, but after a bit of looking around, I'm not sure I understand how I could print calendars there. Any pointers?

Very interesting -- I've requested an account there and I'll see what they have to say. Looks like they produce a few different types of calendars, but you can't get much info until you have an approved account.

If you have a Mac, iPhoto offers a calendar printing service. Don't know how good the quality is, am planning on printing a showcase book after I expand my portfolio a bit, will let you know.

ETA: I belong to dA, not a huge fan of the prints system. I got a print from there once though, was excellent quality. Had dA logo on back.

Yup, found that. Either I am missing something very simple, or their web pages are just too info-dense and confusing for me to navigate. I managed to find the "how to submit calendars" section in the faq area, and I can find a bunch of calenders other people have up for sale, but I cannot for the life of me figure out the prices would be if I want to simply create my own calender and order it. I get the idea this site is primarily to create a sell products to others, like cafe press or something? I'd be happy to just find a basic product spec and price sheet somewhere...

You upload your pages and submit it to your shop, then you order how ever many you want and the price is adjusted accordingly. I don't think you have to make it public...but I may be wrong.
