I ran across this advertisement and thought some may be interested here

Hi. Our experiment is called World Wide Moment.
The idea is very simple: We want people all over the world to take a photograph at the exact same moment
And then share their photos and stories.
Everyone is invited to participate. All you have to do is take a photograph August 7th @ 5:08PM if you're in San Diego.
The moment we have chosen is 08.08.08@08:08+08GMT, which means August 8th, 2008 @ 8:08am in the +08 GMT time zone (China and Australia).
We have supporters in dozens of countries so far.
