I have NO idea what went wrong! Some of you out there may have seen my HORRIBLE picture that I posted, and I don't know what happened to it! I 'doctored' it in Photoshop, made it the correct size, and entered it. Then, when I came back later to see how it was scoring, I looked at it, and couldn't even believe that I was as high as I was! The image is completely out of focus---it wasn't that way on my file! Is there any way that I can remove this entry? I wouldn't even dream of entering something like that seriously!

Are you saying it is scoring well and you don't understand why?

No, I'm saying that I want to take it out of the contest b/c I'm getting comments back about something that I wouldn't ever do--submit an OOF picture! Some of the comments aren't too good!

No you can't remove it now that the challenge has started. In the future after you upload your shot, look at it and be sure it's how you want it. Sorry, don't worry we won't hold it against you. We've all had some kind of mess up. :)

I suggest that you make a habit of opening your final image file in an Internet Explorer (or whatever browser you use) window before you upload it to DPC. I have caught a couple of correctable errors this way.

When you resize a photo downwards to fit the web, images often become slightly blurred. You need to apply the unsharpen mask at this point.

Photoshop offers a web optimisation option, which works fantastically in combination with selection masks.

Scroll down and check Russell Brown's Tips for precise instructions.
