Some sites require exclusivity, some offer it as an option, and many/most do not require it.
Most sites offering "Rights-Managed" images (Corbis, Getty, Alamy, PhotoShelter) will not allow you to post the same image at a "MicroStock" site like Shutterstock or Fotolia, and some will not accept you as a contributor if you have any images posted at such sites.
Sometimes a customer will require exclusivity as a condition of licensing the image, in which case you may not be able to use it any more, but should get paid a lot for it. |
