I've decided to do a little set of photographs that reflect my interpretation/visualisation of the five songs from Joanna Newsom's album 'Ys'. The songs cover too much i think to portray in a singular photo so each is just a snippet that sums up a part of the song that is memorable or sticks out to me. I've currently finished two and was looking for some critique either as individual photos or a set (work as a set, style etc..)
Joanna Newsom - Only Skin.
Only Skin
"scrape your knee; it is only skin
makes the sound of violins"
Joanna Newsom - Sawdust & Diamonds.
Sawdust & Diamonds
"and the little white dove
made with love, made with love:
made with glue, and a glove, and some pliers".....
"hold me close," cooed the dove
who was stuffed now with sawdust and diamonds"
I had to fake the diamonds in the last one, and obviously the dove is origami but it all fits into the context of the song (loosely) depending on your interpretation.
Anyway, enjoy and any C&C appreciated. I'll have the other three done soon.

I tried another of the songs but i'm not sure about it. I thought i'd post to perhaps get some ideas on how to do it better, or if it's not so bad the way it is, if it fits with the other two.. i'm not sure.

| The Only Skin version is very cool. Looks like you left some little pointy brush marks on the leg though. |
