Creeping up ever so slowly, and I am so very excited to partake in my first Free Study challenge. Having a little bit of trouble with my last minute submissions (I have already changed my shot 4 times today) but loking forward to wonderful shots.

Guess I better go take a picture. I still got 5 hours and 12 minutes, plenty of time.

Yeah, I posted mine the first week of the month and have been waiting and waiting and waiting and.... well you get the picture. Surprisingly, I haven't touched it since I posted it, which is a rarity. I'm really proud of this one and regardless of the scores, I think it's one of my best so far.

So what time is it now? Hmmmm, not only do we have to wait for it to start, but then the agony of waiting for the end of the challenge voting. Hopefully it won't be a two week long thing like it was last time. That was pure agony!!! Please have mercy on us admins :P

My first free study submission was my highest ever and I think it was only my fourth challenge or so.... My goal, to beat my December Free study. Lofty idea, I know, but a girl can dream. :)

Good luck to all!

No entry. I don't want people to vote down because the image doesn't look like a DSLR :P

It was nice to see a few of the top shots in the Orange Challenge were not DSLRs.

I had a plethora of images to shoose from, I hope I chose wisely.

I had WAY too many photos to choose from having gone on vacation and on many more photo shoots than usual this month. I have no idea what to submit. It doesn't help that I am usually completely wrong about what people will like on here. I wish I had a clear favorite but I don't. They are all entirely different. That's the hard part of having a free study I guess. How do you compare completely different photographs?

Well, my angle of action has been asking the hardest critics around---the family. But if that source is either uneducated, unwilling, or just annoying, asking some friends outside of DPC (just regular people) helps too. Contrary to what you might think, instead of looking at photos from a learned photographer's point of view, it sometimes helps to not overthink and have a simple, or general public, viewer help decide. And if you decide to be a hermit and just go with your own decision, just keep looking...and looking...and looking...and.......

I am a hermit.

I haven't had much time to shoot in March. Lotsa overtime at work and only marginal shots taken trip to Florida, which went by way too fast by the way.

Submitting a shot taken during my last real photo outing taken at the very beginning of the month.

All I want is a 5.5+ score and I'll be happy.

EDIT
And oh yeah. Yucky melting crap coloured snow isn't conducive to good pictures either.

I am not too happy with my entry either but I rather enter something I am not sure of rather than nothing at all...

I'm also really excited for this challenge. The caliber of photos in the members only challenges are always very high so it's quite intimidating that 275 have already submitted. Yikes! I had no idea there were that many paying members. That's an incredible accomplishment for DPChallenge overall. I can't wait to see everyone's submissions. I hope mine won't wilt in comparison. ;)

Yep I am excitted too, I can't wait to see people showing what they want rather then trying to take a picture for one of the challenges.

I looked through my March images and wound up taking a new shot about 30 minutes prior to the deadline! So much for having a whole month! LOL

I guess it is worth the effort, it is hanging around 7.2 in the voting so far!

Amazing is all I can say. Well worth the wait.

we should name this the bird challenge with a special focus on eagles :)

There are some fantastic shots. I think mine is one of those "withering" shots compared to the rest/ I saw my score go into the mid six range, and then quickly drop to a 5.2 several votes later. I calculated that a few of them were ones. Oh well, I still like the shot, in fact, its my favorite to date, the score reall doesn't mean to much, even though I had high hopes for this shot. With DPC, it can be a hit-or-miss thing.

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone for submitting tons of great shots to this challenge. It is very refreshing after my burdening stroll through the orange and out of place challenges. I look forward to returning to these photos and enjoying them more throughout the week when I have more time.
