You are only 20, you have three 7+ on your page, three ribbons... and you get 5.8 on average?!?!?!

Notice that 3/4 of my top four are pretty much the same exact woman staring into the camera dramatically and I haven't gotten any above a 6.5ish in 6 months. In the end it is not about the numbers it is just that week after week i look at the ribbons and honestly I think that most of them are brightly colored crap that I have seen over and over again.

I am bitter. Why can't I move on...haha

I have now hit 5.07.....I wish Langdon had made the challenge details perfectly clear to stop this bull****!!!! I agree everyone is entitled to their own opinion...but when it is a challenge based on previous challenges....it is so damn frustrating to get hit with low votes when you know you have a damn good image. The image isn't being voted on it's technical merits...instead on clouded information in the voters eyes.

I am a little slow (not to say stupid) but to me the challenge was very clear.
any picture (kind of a free study) just not landscape picture.
I never even thought about the picture orientation (portrait or landscape) and find it difficult to believe anyone is voting a picture down because of it (but then again the voters here surprised me more then once and some can be really nitty-gritty)

16 votes - 5.1 score. 1 comment indicating it is a decent shot. I don't much care, I like the shot a lot. Do I think should be a ribbon winner, absolutely not, but perhaps a little bit closer to my avg score than it is right now. Oded, same as you, I didn't consider the orientation of the picture at all in this challenge.

Where does it state that you may not use landscape orientation should the challenge be "Anything but Landscapes". I have my copy locked up safe Yanko I just haven't read it all yet

Nah, it is likely very good. That is the way we treat good photos here it seems! (seriously though, it will change a lot. Until you hit 60 or 70 votes things are still likely to sway a bunch.)
