To add insult to injury, this morning it was commented that my line was fake. And just now I got a verification request lol.

Mini-rant here
142 entries in this challenge. FIFTY of them have "line" in the title. Now granted, for some of them, it works. For others? I'm not stupid. I KNOW I am supposed to be looking for a line. Its the name of the challenge. I also know that this is going to skew my opinion of the entries. Now I can either slam the entrants for making me feel dumb or I can skip voting.
btw...on a positive note: I see some out of the box entries that I DO like. So not voting won't really sit well...

| Wow, I don't think I've ever voted based on the title, unless it's super clever and then it might earn an extra point from me. I've never voted LOWER because of a title though. This is a photography website, not a title writing website. I base my vote on the quality of the photo. If it's a great photo with a dumb name I don't see a reason to lower the score because of it, or refuse to vote altogether. I guess we all vote differently. *shrug* |

My philosophy on titling an image is "Would I call it this if I were to enter it in a free study?". In some cases the only connection to the challenge is the title. If you've shot a good image that meets the challenge AND you feel you need to beat the voter (me) over the head with the title to TELL me it meets the challenge then I get grumpy. I guess to me its like trying to shoehorn an entry that already meets the challenge.
Its just a pet peeve of mine and one that, given sufficient time this week, I will get over and allow myself to enjoy the entries as they are.
Anyways, back to the scores!

The longer the score hangs in there ... the more nervous I get about looking at it! NOT mathematically sound reasoning, I understand!

| I'm seeing some really cool shots in the challenge that I personally like, but I'm curious as to how the "DNMC" police are reacting. Are you guys feeling the heat if there is more than one line in your shots? Won't change my voting habits any, but I was just curious. :-) |

Don't worry, I've said on the site more than once if you have the challenge title anywhere in your own title you are running the risk of a shoehorn. I avoid it like the plague.
