Hey everyone, I'm currently running a photography club in melbourne, called the Monash Photography Club. We're running an overnight trip, and I thought you guys might be interested. Feel free to PM me about it.
-----------------------------
Hey all,
We've got a great new trip planned for an after exams photography session. Its a two day (overnight stay in Lakes Entrance) photography trip down to the Gippsland/Lakes Entrance area for some serious photography. This trip will also be a teaching trip, with workshops before shooting at each location to have a chat about the best approach to photographing each site. Also, all "students" will be paired with a "teacher" who will help them throughout the trip. At the end of the trip, we will all sit down together and review photos taken on the trip with the help of a projector, and we will give feedback. This will be a great learning opportunity for all beginner-intermediate photographers, with lots of teaching and more importantly, lots of hands on practice. We will be shooting at a variety of awesome photography locations so your guaranteed great photos from this trip.
Some of the locations we will be shooting at:
Wineries
Forests
Wildlife Sanctuary
Beaches (Sunrise)
Towns
Star photography
In order to get the most out of this trip, you don't need an advanced SLR camera, however we require that your camera has at least a "Manual" mode (which most pocket digital cameras do). If you are unsure, please feel free to email back.

Sounds interesting.
Any details on accommodation ? Motel? Tent? Will be too drunk to care?
I'd sounds like a good opportunity for some photography coaching.

Accommodation will be at a good quality motel, as we understand everyone will be bringing many $$ worth of gear, and as such the first priority for the accommodation was somewhere secure.
we're running this trip as a photography coaching session really, and if your in Melbourne and are interested, feel free to reply to this thread, or pm me with any questions :)
Thanks

I'd go but I fear you might all be a little too young for me. Besides I try to escape my 21yo son whenever I can I don't fancy hanging out with his peers LOL. Have a nice time though. |

Don't be silly!!!
Age has nothing whatsoever to do with it. I'm also more than double your son's age, and couldnt give a stuff about that. I'm hoping to go and have fun, see the sights, learn and teach a few things photographic, and meet the people.
Come along Kylie.......sign up, and enjoy! It's a great initiative. |

Ok there is another reason! One I didn't want to admit to in print! I'll be celebrating my 40th b'day *sobs* that weekend with friends coming down from Brisbane. |

Ohhh, well, that's different then....
but, do your Brisbane friends take photographs? Do they want to see a part of Vic they wouldnt otherwise? Fancy seeing in the Big Four-Oh in style, in a kinda unconventional way?
OK, I spose this is asking a bit much, but hey, what the hell.....it's do-able, even on your birthday. |

sinky: PM sent
overclover: your never too old to join us, and in fact theres quite a few non-students who are enquiring into the trip, but if you aren't able to make it because of your birthday, thats ok, though it would be a different 40th to everyone elses :)
also, I should have clarified. the MONSU Caulfield Service desk is located at Monash University, Caulfield Campus. If you are unable to purchase tickets from here, pm me, or email monashphotographyclub [at] gmail [dot] com And we can work out an alternative method.
