Signed up in April of 2007 with a Olympus SP-550 UZ for my main camera and entered a lot of challenges over the summer. In the fall my personally life got in the way and I cut way back on the challenge entries. In March 2008 my lovely wife gave me a D80 which got me back in the game entering challenges. Since march though, Only 1 shot with my D80 has cracked my top 5 proving once again it's not the camera!

I have entered 27 challenges.

Meta-analysis
I've entered only 6 challenges this year and 2 of those made my top 5. Either I'm getting better or DPC has become more generous. ;-)
My top 3 entries occurred toward the beginning of the month. Therefore I should not bother entering at any other time.
BTW, 3 of my lowest 5 occurred early in my first year. I wonder what that means...

Personally I believe its the sheer magnitude of users and members now.

I think I "peaked" between October '02 and February '03 -- 3 of the 5 came in that 5 month period. (Incidentally, that is when I stepped up to the Sony 707, maybe I should get that camera back. . . )

It looks like I registered in December of '05...26 challenges

Entered my first challenge in January of '06 and Scored a 6.6712, finishing in 4th place.

Haven't been able to repeat it...

...at all.

Although my current free study is close. :-)

Gotta say it: not at all sure it has to do with learning to make stuff DPC-friendly. Just trying to make pictures at all at all. (I think).
