Sorry, wall of links to come. I did two model shoots in the last week and a half, my first ones ever. I'll link to some photos I've post-processed on my Flickr, along with their originals. Can you give me some critique for them, please? I'm kind of self-consious about these, but I really love working with models.

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated from a novice photographer! :)

EDIT: I didn't even think about having to be logged in to Flickr, I'm sorry. Redid the links.

One word, wow! I sure hope we'll be seeing a lot more model photos from you, because you are off to an amazing start. After discovering you Deviantart page, I'm starting to understand that you are clearly a very talented artist, so it's not surprising that you model work is impressive too. The one of Nancy upside-down is wonderfully elegant, your use muted yellows and greens contrasted with the dark blue in her eyes and hair is perfect. The one of Nyla is the only one that's not working for me, maybe because of her non-expression, or the way the shadow side of her head dominates the frame. But the whole Jordan series is just amazing! I'm not always a fan of that cross-processed look, but you really made it work. Keep up the good work!

Hi sammigurl... i think people may run away when they click on the first link & get confronted with the "You must be logged in" screen. In the future, maybe just post the imageshack links (or even better - become a member & post them here!).

On to the photo's:
I really like the first series. With the exception of the first image (which is very dark IMO), the next three have a polished feel to them - the lighting is very flattering, and it looks like you worked well with the model. My only suggestion would be to have her look at the camera (like in the upside-down image). There seems to be a 'cold' feel to the ones where she is looking away. Very nice work.

The 2nd series seems to have more of a snapshot feel to it - i think due to the lighting. The shots with the sun directly behind the model don't look very appealing (on my screen anyway), but the last image looks great! I tend to love iages with people doing strange things in an environment, so that one is memorable to me. I would suggest playing with the saturation and contrast on that last series...

:O)

No problem looking at the Flickr-pics, but maybe that's because I have an account there myself.

I am quite the opposite of roba: I am very impressed with the second (Jordan) serie of pics. They have the kind of fashion feel that one normally only sees with very experienced photographers. Some of the pics could use a little more light on the model (a fill flash for instance), but that is a mere technicallity compared to atmosphere you created here.

The first (Nancy) shoot is nice, but it's just that. You did a good job there, especialy since it's your first shoot ever, but it does not come close to the Jordan series imo.

Thank you, I hadn't even thought about the logged in thing. I redid the links. Thanks for your input, too! :)

I really like the second series - the balloons are a nice touch and the colours are great, and even though the girl looks a lot like my ex I wasn't violently ill, kudos! J

Thank you. I plan to. I recommend using the sun and natural light--it's free, and you can make reflector cards out of aluminum foil. :)

EDIT: Spelling.
