Partners have long been associated with the number two for me. (That's nobody's fault...just my own personal association.) Yet, I would like to avoid a DNMC this time. So, please help me, if you will.
Partners could, also, mean three (as in triplets or owners of a business, like my wife who is one of three owners of Hair Studio 101 in Statesboro,) Right? I saw the word "teamwork" which has been associated with the numeration "many," but "relationship" in the way it is used in the description seems to give the idea of a "pair."
Please, forgive me if it seems that I am just trying to be difficult. I can assure you that this is never the case (in anything I say.) I am merely an "out-loud processor" who has to take words out and look at them to understand their meanings because apparently the things that most folks say that they understand instinctively is not that easy for me. (I hope these insights are even slightly helpful for those who know someone who is H-F Autistic or Asperger's Syndrome. The movie, Mozart & the Whale, is another great help. I laughed all the way through.)
(Thank you for any kindness in response to one such as I, who may appear to enjoy being odious, but again...from my heart...that is not the case.)

I'd never DNMC an entry with more than 2 persons, if they are all presented on an equal level of size and focus (i.e. they are the subject alltogether). I'd definitely DNMC such an entry, if there are additional persons in focus, that don't belong to the partnership or team, or if they appear to belong to a further team or partnership (which would make them competitors in most cases)

Challenge Description: "Partnerships and teamwork are everywhere about us in nature and in human affairs; capture an image that shows a mutually beneficial relationship."
Multiple people? Absolutely! There's nothing in that description that quantifies a number of people in a "partnership", or how many it takes for "teamwork". That being said, who knows what the voters will think? :-P
Safest bet is probably to go with what you think "Partners" means, because there will be many that don't read the description. Ummm...that probably just brought you back to square one, eh? ;-) |

There used to only be one "open" challenge, but it got to be really big, so the admins started offering two (pick your choose, as my grandmother used to say) to make the load smaller.

i just think so because what if you have two good photos that both deserve to be entered, but you must choose one. kinda sucks a bit...i also think that it is unfair because of the good critiques that are given when the photos are judged in a competition, versus ones that are just posted on my profile, or after the challenge is done. especially for those of us who don't necessarily score that well all the time, but enjoy the suggestions for improvement, or the registered users who can only enter the open challenges, then our other deserving photos wont be commented on. |

That's only "unfair" in the sense that life is unfair. Which may very well be true. Life makes me so mad sometimes! |

I don't think anything "deserves" anything. But if you want comments on a non-challenge entry, just create your own thread and ask for comments. I've done that many times, and always get some good thoughts.
I find the best time is when it's mid-afternoon on the east coast of the US. Don't know where you are, but that's about 6:00 pm Greenwich time (UST). The whole US is then online, which gives you lots of people to see the thread, and it can carry into the evening hours.
