This image is quite soft, which is sort of the effect that I wanted. The lens combination is a strange mix that can focus right to the front element of the lens. With a monopod, it's a fun set up for getting up close and personal with very small items. Motion is a big problem at that range. Even the tiniest bit of movement looks huge in the finder.
Today I only found an anole (local lizard,) a swamp rabbit, a buzzard, a squirrel, and a swarm of gnats to photograph. I just missed a fine shot at a caracara, or Mexican buzzard. It's a big bird that looks a lot like an eagle. The one posted, I shot yesterday because it looks better than todays shots. The rabbit shot is good, but not so interesting.
I see that this is a week long challenge, so I will try to hang in here with everyone nightly for the week. I will have to delete some of my portfolio to make room for more images, as it is at 99% full now.

Day 5

I really was planning to post a plant today, but this bird was too special to pass over.

No critter shots today. They just were not out much because it was so hot and sunny. I got one anole shot with my P&S, but not close enough to make it worth seeing.

Almost caught up on comments, as for shooting I haven't had much time so I am plugging the holes with some recent shots.

Whew; caught up on commenting. I think I need to take a field trip and find something interesting to shoot, though I can't imagine topping some of the things I just commented on!

Today was a good day, I managed to find a couple of nice things to share. One for today, one to make up for fudging yesterday with a day old image.
