I'm also shocked that someone would fav MY ugly mug, lol!!
I'm glad to see this one coming to an end, I'm excited for the next one :) Hopefully I will do leaps and bounds better.

Ok I know it's not much and I'm probably overly excited but, mine is up from a 5.6 to a 5.8 WHOOOOO! It's my first entry on DPC, I've only owned a camera for about 5 months, and it's the first time I've ever worked with people at all. And I've had the most insightful and encouraging comments. Thanks everyone this is fun! (yes I know it probably won't stick, but I'm reveling while I can)

Regarding male and female. I am not surprised there are more entries and views and higher scores for females than males. We live in a culture and are members of a species that admires females more for their phyical appearance than anything else. Is that right? No. Is it the way it is, yes.

Well another way to put it is that they're out of focus and over-processed. Like you, I also prefer the artistic side but if the technicals detract/distract from the art then the viewer will likely have a problem with the image.

Do the eyes have to be sharp or the skintones natural?? I'm only asking because even though my image is doing ok (6.2 with 3 favorites) - I am getting a mix of comments that really makes me wonder if we are judging on technicality or artistry.. I prefer the latter
