A friend has just rung me to ask if I know how to try to restore or find photos that have been deleted off her camera card. I know there are programes out there but as I have never had to do it I haven't had any experience. The photos are baby photos so they are sentimental. Could I get some suggestion for software downloads (free if possible). Tried to do a search but couldn't think of better key words and couldn't find what I was looking for. Thanks for any help. The one that most often seems to produce results is Zero Assumption Recovery (ZAR).

ASAP, let the friend know not to shoot any more images with that card until you do what you can to recover the ones on it now. It may write over the ones in it now if any more are loaded to that card.
