I hope there is at least a 7 score hiding out here somewhere when all is said and done- (i'm really looking forward to seeing who ribbons) :)

I've been staying out of this thread and biting my tongue, but I want to preserve this for posterity before it slips below a 6 and stays there :)

I really only expected 5.5ish, where it settled early before crawling up. It's not a bad shot, just not screamingly fitting for THIS challenge.

I totally, wholeheartedly and wholesomely agree to your thoughts. Thats the reason DPC exists and is growing coz its a place where 'mentors' are more abundant than the 'judges'. Judging is easy it just needs a click, mentoring requires commitment and time to encourage a person who knows less than you but is keen to learn.

But a 3 is still a 3 and giving them a 5 does them no good at all.

I'd rather get a 3 and a reason than I would a 5 and silence.

But of course, I think Simon Cowell is the only judge that matters. You guys want to be Paula Abdul.

Not bad. After the first vote and praise from a ribboning member, I thought I might have a new PB... but alas no. Be climbing toward 6.00, getting as high as 5.9250.

But I really like my image, so that's good.

no- i don't want to be anyone other than myself :P
Your 3 could be my 5 I don't think just -one- judge ever matters in a contest or challenge, I think all the judges choices and their feedback is valuable; (feedback being a major key in anything below a 4 IMO)

I tend to view the silver-lining and the glass as half full whenever possible.

Well said love6. Great Outlook! I am a half-full person too, but wasn't always. Letting go of anger helps.

Since this is a scoring thread, here's mine after the 100 mark.

I prefer to see the glass 3/4 full while many see it 1/4 empty. But I'm very blessed.

No anger issues, just think gentle honesty is far more helpful than coddling.

My average vote cast for all challenges is: 5.3227

Is that low? Still trying to figure out how voting goes... I figured the winners are around 7+...So 7-8 is very very good, 9 is excellence and 10 divine...

Now I'm not so sure...perhaps I've been a bit strict in that appreciation is subjective and even the winning photographs may have a few low scores which knock 'em down a bit...

That sounds like a perfectly reasonable scale of voting to me and I think most around here.

Scoring significantly higher than my Soft Focus, which I think is a MUCH better image. Voters clearly beg to differ with my opinion.

I'm at a high so far. Also, I'm in a gray area where I rarely score -- the 5.7 to 6.0 range.

This one has been all over the place. Started off at 6.6xx at 20 votes then plunged to 5.2xx by 40 votes. Been slowly climbing back up and just hit 6 again at 105 votes.
